Madelaide Beatrice Hutchins-Williams Obituary (1937

Madelaide Beatrice Williams, affectionally known as "Maddie" was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 13, 1937, to the late Joseph Leon Jones and Nettie Thornton Jones. She departed this life peacefully on June 16, 2022, surrounded by family. Maddie was confirmed at a young age at St Philips Evangelical Lutheran Church, Baltimore, Maryland. She married the late Ronald Leon Hutchins Senior on February 4, 1955, and soon became an Air Force wife, and together they welcomed four children, Ronald Leon Hutchins Junior (Rose), Michael Antione Hutchins (Beverly), Rhone Glenn (Kevin), and Sonya Michelle Hutchins. As a military spouse, Maddie soon found herself living in many states across the country, including Texas, North Dakota, California, Colorado, New Jersey, and Virginia. An enterprising mother, she became a Nurse's Aide and found other work, inside and outside the home, while joyfully raising a young family. Once her children left the nest, she often joined them and found herself living in Hawaii and New Mexico and later visited Germany, Mexico, and Turkey. Maddie eventually resettled in the Baltimore area in 1989 and continued to work until retirement at the Baltimore Veterans Administration in 2002. This left her with plenty of time for her favorite pastimes of playing BINGO and casino SLOT MACHINES, often along with her sisters known as The Casino Girls. No matter where she lived, Maddie's home was known to family and friends as a safe haven from any storm. Everyone was welcome. She offered her wisdom and compassion along with her gift of hospitality. The first family reunions were barbeques/slumber parties in her home. No hotel needed. Everyone slept in shifts wherever they could find a spot to lay down. The fun often lasted over several days. Eventually, Maddie introduced everyone to her signature dish, CHILI CHICKEN, which has become a family favorite at many gatherings with other family cooks, adding their own spin to the recipe to carry on the tradition. Left to cherish her memory Maddie leaves, her children, siblings Lawrence Jones (Betty), Irene Adams (Earl), Edith Brown (Godfrey), Nettie Plessey (Antoine), Gregory Jones (Caurletta), Grandsons, Dejuan Hutchins and Garrett Hutchins, Granddaughters Latasha Hutchins, Crystal Hutchins, Charie Hutchins, MichelleHutchins and, Rene Hutchins, great grandchildren, Deja Hutchins, Jendayi Williams, Kyra Hutchins, Jada Hutchins, Jakari Williams, JeJuan Hutchins, and Aliya Harris, and a host of other family, and friends. Maddie's beautiful smile would light up any room. Her light continues to shine in heaven along with her beloved husbands Ronald Leon Senior, and Arthur Williams, sisters Margaret Edwards and Sara Jane, brothers Joseph Jones and Richard Jones and a host of other relatives, and friends. She will forever be missed by many who loved her dearly. Viewing will be held on July 5th, 2022. Family hour, 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and for the Public 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marzullo Funeral Chapel located at 6009 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21214. The service will be held on July 6th, 2022. Wake, 10:30 AM and Service at 11:00 AM at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries at 6000 Radecke Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21206. Interment Immediately following the service on July, 6th 2022, at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Garrison Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. .
